Pokidishev was born in 1965 in the town of Penza, Russia. In 1984 he graduated from Penza Art College named after K. Savitsky. In 1993 he graduated from Saint-Petersburg Academy of Arts named after I. Repin.

Classical face and the decorative pattern are the artist’s distinguishing features, he is inspired by the sports that Russian nobles were fond of — hunting, sailing and riding. The artist showed the delight faces and always paid attention on the softness texture against the solid subject.
